Got FastCGI working
Published December 30th, 2005 in RubyI got fastCGI working. I didn’t do anything differently than before, but I did notice that there were some ruby processes hanging around even after killing them with ‘kill -9′. They kept re-spawning. The dispatch.fcgi and my test.fcgi scripts were out of control. When I stopped and started Apache, it cured the problem and fastCGI was working properly and seems to be stable now.
It cured it for a while, but I have since abandoned FastCGI with Apache2. I’m relying on plain old CGI or WEBrick + Proxy for now, though SCGI looks like a promising alternative to FCGI. See previous post and Roy Tate’s comment.
